ABOUT 4,000 different chemicals in tobacco smoke including tar, carbon

monoxide and poisons are inhaled by someone who gets near somebody who's puffing and and producing cigarette smokes like a chimney. If there are 10 persons around the smoker- these 10 persons are virtually smoking too because like the smoker- they too breathed in all the harmful substances contained in the tobacco smoke.
From the smoke particles- too small for the eye to see- mix with the surrounding air. These particles are unwittingly inhaled by anyone near the smoker and are carried down into the lungs. These tiny particles are harmful to the health, especially in children.
The health of the kids are vital so don't allow them to get near smokers. Make your homes, surroundings and car(s) smoke-free. Don't hesitate to call the attention of smokers while smoking in wrong venues.

Tar is composed of many chemicals including cancer-causing substances.
Carbon monoxide lowers the amount of oxygen your blood can carry. Poisons include arsenic, ammonia and
hydrogen cyanide.
What is secondhand smoke?
Secondhand smoke kills
Secondhand smoke comes from both the smoke that smokers exhale called mainstream smoke and the smoke floating from the end of the cigarette, cigar or pipe called sidestream smoke. Secondhand smoke may appear harmless but the opposite is true. IT KILLS.
Secondhand smoke significantly increases a person's risk for: 1) respiratory infections like bronchitis and pneumonia, 2) asthma, 3) coughing, sore throat, sniffing and sneezing, 4) cancer and 5) heart disease. It not only jeopardizes a person's health in the future. It can cause problems, like affecting someones sports performance or ability to be physically alive.
Along this line- the Center for Health Devewlopment- Metro Manila in coordination with the World Lung Foundation conducted a survey between last January 29 and Feb. 26. Interviewing 1000 reapondents, age 18 to 55, they arrived at the following results: (1) 52% of Metro Manilans are exposed to secondhand smoke every day, (2) 71% are exposed to it once a week, (3) 71% of non-smokers strongly agree that being around smoke upsets them; they admitted knowing that secondhand smoke harms non-smokers, (4) 87% of respondent said they think smoking cause heart disease in non-smokers, (5) 93% believe it causes lung cancer and (6) 96% believe smoking causes lung cancer in children who breathe it.
